EMSET 2016 Rules & Regulations

1. The objective type examination will be of two and a half hours duration from 10 AM to 12:30 PM on June 12, 2016.

2. There will be 120 questions with a total of 480 marks.

3. All questions will be of multiple choice type with 5 suggested options (A, B, C, D and E) for each question. Darken the bubble corresponding to the correct answer on OMR sheet.

4. For each correct answer, FOUR marks will be awarded and for each incorrect answer ONE mark will be deducted.

5. Answering at least one question is a must for getting qualified.

6. Subjects for the EMSET 2016:

For Dental: - Physics, Chemistry & Biology (+2 Level)

For Engineering: - Physics, Chemistry & Maths (+2 Level)

For Other Degree Streams: - General Aptitude

7. Reporting for the Examination:

(i) Candidates should show the Admit card for verification. Ballpoint pen (either blue or black ink) should be brought for the examination. Writing board is allowed to the Examination hall.

(ii) Any other items including but not limited to calculator, logarithm table, pencil, eraser, correction fluid, mobile phones and electronic gadgets will not be permitted to the examination hall.

(iii) Candidate should report at the examination hall, 20 minutes before the prescribed time for the commencement of the examination, for verification and data filling.

(iv) Candidate reporting after 30 minutes after the commencement of the examination will not be permitted to enter the examination hall.

(v) Candidates can leave the examination hall only after the completion of the examination.

8. Candidate must write the name and roll number in the space provided in the Question booklet and in the OMR answer sheet.

9. Candidate has to fill in all the entries on the left side (Candidate's Data part) of the answer sheet before beginning to answer questions.

10. Immediately after the commencement of the examination, the candidate should check and make sure that the question booklet supplied contains 120 questions in serial order and it is free from any damage. Otherwise, the matter should be brought to the immediate attention of the invigilator.

17. Method of marking:

(i) Use only ballpoint pen (either blue or black ink) for filling the ovals (bubbles).

(ii) Select the most appropriate answer from the five answers marked (A), (B), (C), (D) and (E) of each question.

(iii) Multiple marking for a question, incomplete filling of the bubble, marking which is not clear, will be treated as an invalid mark.

(iv) Erasure of an already marked bubble will lead to the negative marking.

12. If a candidate is found to have involved in any of the malpractice activities, during the course of EMSET 2016, before or later on, shall be considered to have committed malpractice at examination and his/her candidature in the present EMSET 2016 will be cancelled.

13. Malpractice includes, but not limited to:

(i) Possession of anything other than the items mentioned in clause 8 (i).

(ii) Impersonation;

(iii) Breaching any of the examination rule;

(iv) Assisting others to malpractice;

(v) Communicating with any person, other than the Examination Staff, during the examination time in the examination hall;

(vi) Taking away the answer sheet out of the examination hall, threatening any of the examination staff, threatening any of the candidates, forceful entry in Examination Hall;

14. Candidates can take the question booklet with them at the end of examination.

15. The "Answer Keys" of EMSET 2016 will be published on EKC website after the completion of the examination.

16. The rank lists of EMSET 2016 will be published on the EKC website on or before June 19th, 2016.

17. For any disputes/complaints in any regards, decision of the EMSET 2016 Committee shall be final.

NB: EMSET 2016 Scholarship can be availed by a candidate if he/she meets the general norms and conditions stipulated by the State Government for that particular course
